Didn't know what this would be
But I knew I didn't see
What you thought
You saw in me
I jumped the gun
So sure you'd split and run
Ready for the worst
Before the damage was done
The storm never came
Or it never was
Didn't know getting lost in the blue
It meant I wound up losing you
Welcome to the inner workings of my mind
So dark and foul I can't disguise
Can't disguise
Nights like this
I become afraid
Of the darkness in my heart
Hurricane
What's wrong with me
Why not understand and see
I never saw
What you saw in me
Keep my eyes open
My lips sealed
My heart closed
And my ears peeled
Welcome to the inner workings of my mind
So dark and foul I can't disguise
Can't disguise
Nights like this I become afraid
Of the darkness in my heart
Hurricane
Make ash and leave the dust behind
Lady diamond in the sky
Wild light
Glowing bright
To guide me
When I fall
I fall on tragedy
Welcome to the inner workings of my mind
So dark and foul I can't disguise
Can't disguise
Nights like this I become afraid
Of the darkness in my heart
Hurricane
MSMR are an indie/alternative pop duo. We decided to narrow down our search to this song by MSMR and Au Revoir Simone's Somebody Who (see Jess' post) as we all really liked the genre and style of both songs. In particular we liked the alternative pop and deep wave echo to the vocals in Hurricane, it is also a fairly unknown song by a fairly unknown band so this meant we had a lot to work with when styling the band because an audience would not instantly recognise the vocals on the track whereas a popular chart topping band such as AlunaGeorge would be hard to shy away from when it came to their style as Aluna has very distinct vocals. We also had a few locations in mind (similar to Au Revoir Simone's Somebody Who music video, a mansion with high ceilings and grand staircases) and we all felt that this song would be great to shoot in the same style as Somebody Who as it has instrumentals and swooping tones.

Do something with this, why have you posted these lyrics? Why have you selected this song in particular?
